Yamaha is a brand that makes many different kinds of instruments – from pianos, guitars, all kinds of woodwind instruments, and almost every type of brass instrument, including cornets and trumpets. Yamaha trumpets are popular not only because of their decent prices, but more importantly because the trumpets play very well and are very good for the beginner trumpet player, although many professionals have picked up some of the more recent models as well.
Most of the Yamaha trumpets for sale come in the standard gold or silver color, with the signature Yahama logo across the bell although they come with different specifications and variations, and of course, prices. They fit well in the hands and are very durable as well.
One of the most popular models is the YRT-2335 Bb Trumpet, which can start brand new at $699.99, however you will probably be able to find a better price for a used trumpet since a lot of beginners start out on this model, and upgrade to something else. Many are kept in perfect condition so you may be able to find one in the $399.00 to $499.99 price range, if you’re lucky, which is a fantastic price for a quality brand like Yamaha.
Yamaha instruments, in general, are very user friendly and are a great selection if you’re a student or novice player. Don’t discount the upper-range models, however, because models like the Yamaha YTR8335RGS Xeno Trumpet, which cost typically about the $2000.00 range, are used by many professionals – from corps members to first chairs in the orchestra!
Yamaha also provides a number of accessories to go along with your trumpet, such as trumpet stands, cases, cleaning kits, and one of the most impressive things you’ll ever come across, the SB79 Silent Brass System for Trumpet, which is a mute that you can put into your trumpet that has a jack for some headphones, and you can actually play silently in whatever room you’re in, and listen to yourself play and sound like a professional in different room settings in your headphones. I will be writing a review about the Silent Brass System soon, but it’s totally out of this world. I had one when I needed to practice my marching band music while in the dorms in college, and you can be sure my roommates (and dorm mates) were happy I had that thing on when I was practicing!
If you’re interested in buying a trumpet, a Yamaha trumpet is definitely not a bad choice!
